    Oldies but Goodies -- Past Recommendations (Remus/Draco)
    I often end up discussing the Slytherin/Gryffindor dynamic in terms of pairings with friends. Different priorities, different perspectives, etc. It's one of the reasons I find Harry/Draco, Snarry, Ron/Draco, and Hermione/Draco so appealing. The built-in conflict is too delicious to resist. House rivalries, assumptions about and genuine characteristics of house members make for exciting relationship building, and this is without taking into account specific canon events surrounding particular characters. In AU fics, I adore James/Draco fics, but I do like stories that stick to the canon timeline, and while I've by no means exhausted my fic reading of the above mentioned pairings, I sometimes like to find other pairs to read that feature this type of pairing. And so, Remus/Draco it is!

    Here are five Remus/Draco stories I've enjoyed. This pairing, especially in light of HBP, really lends itself to the hurt/comfort genre. Four of the five stories listed are hurt/comfort, and the characterizations, though varied from author to author, are plausible and fitting. None of these stories are new, but they might be new to you! If you'd like to give this dynamic pairing a try, here's a great start:

    I've got zero time and a headache, so this is going to be brief and a bit cranky.

    1) From the previews, it seems like movie 6 has officially given up any pretence of being based on the book. Ah well, it could still be an entertaining movie in its own right. Plus, I hear there's gonna be a lot of Draco, so there's that ;)

    2) Why all the fuss over the naked DanRad pics from the Equus previews? From what I've heard, the boy himself wanted full frontal posters back in 2007, so I doubt he'd mind.

    3) This is a fannish IJ and mostly free of politics, but I'd like to make one thing very clear: anyone who seriously squees over politicians who are openly anti-gay will please stay the fuck away from my slash.

    Hot Chocolate and Comfort – Harry has told his friends about him and Draco. It didn’t go well. Draco gives him hot chocolate and some tender loving. [Rating: ADULT, 3074 words.]

    With a Bow – Draco wakes up Christmas morning to find his lover wrapped and ready for him. [Rating: ADULT, 2221 words.]

    In the Library – Harry finds his lover in the library and they decide leather chairs can be as nice as a bed to play on. [Rating: ADULT, 1915 words.]

    Something’s Cooking – Draco finds Harry in the kitchen and things get hot. [Rating: ADULT, 3185 words.]

    And I have some coffee called "Icing on the Cake" A warm buttery cup frosted with a touch of cinnamon. Hmm, tastes good.

    In honor of Genesis Rhapsodos I also have an apple danish.

    AND I've been getting lots of good comments on my Genesis/Sephiroth fic 'See You in September' - which may be due to pairing, my previous story pair was Angeal/Zack, (canonlove) but the comments may also be due to the fact that the fic has humor in it (those all ways seem to go over better in any fandom) and might be considered ... fluffy. (facepalm) ah well, at least I was able to get over my performance anxiety by just having fun with it. Lazard has just entered part two, and Zack will bounce in soon. And there is Angeal/Zack foreshadowing, SO THERE!

    I loves me some Angeal, yes I do. So buff and manly and motherly. Where do I get one?

    A/N: Canonically, Angelina goes to the Yule Ball with Fred; Jo's post-DH family tree has her marrying George. Here I am playing with the notion of, okay, so what if the Yule Ball was the beginning of a Fred/Angelina relationship that was casual and then eventually more serious, and with the issue of what, then, would happen between George and Angelina in the weeks following Fred's death.
